Fixtures

We take part in a number of competitive leagues which are organised by Notts ASA.  The age groups for the leagues vary, and often give different swimmers a chance to compete. You’ll also find the age at dates differ for different leagues.  We also hold our own competitions.

Sports Centre League.  This league has 6 rounds and each round is swam against the same teams but at the 6 home venues of each team in turn .Age groups are 8/9 years, under 11,under 13,under 15 and Open.

Stage 1 Trophy Galas. One in January and one in December .These are classed as Trophy galas and do not form part of a league so the age groups are 8,9,10 and 11 year olds.

Stage 2 League Galas. Three galas in march , April and May .These galas are in a league format so the age groups are 9,10,11,12,13,14 and Open.

Stage 3 League Galas.Three galas in september and October . These galas are also in a league format so the age groups are 10,11,12,13,14 and Open.

Simeon Hansard Gala.  This is an annual inter club gala where we invite other teams to swim at The Grove.

Notts Asa County Championships . Swimmers have to reach a certain standard and achieve qualyfying times to compete for the club . Swam in February and march for age group swimmmers (up to 14 year girls and 15 year boys) and in December for the Youth swimmers (Over 13 year girls and o0ver 14 year boys)

Midland Asa Regional Championships.Swimmers have to reach a higher standard than Counties to qualify .

Newark Swimming Club competitions.  In addition we also hold two internal club competitions each year, the Age Group championships in April and the Club championships in October.  All members are encouraged to enter these events.  As well as being good fun, they also give swimmers the chance to set ‘personal bests’ and to win medals and trophies.

Modern Biathlon and Modern Triathlon.  Many of our swimmers compete in these competitions arranged by the Modern Pentathlon Association of Great Britain.  These combine a run and swim, or run, swim and pistol shoot.  Regional qualifiers are held locally giving a chance to qualify for a National competition.

Open Meets . These events are arranged by other clubs and are usefull for swimmers to try for better times and also in some cases win trophies .
