22/12/08	We'd like to wish all of our members a Merry Christmas. After the fun session tonight, swimming is not on until the 3rd January.
22/12/08	Please can all members when renewing confirm that the Medical Information and Consent Form is fully up to date. If you need to update details, or haven't completed this, then please use the attached form and bring this to the club desk when renewing. The form needs to be signed by the swimmer and parent/guardian if the swimmer is under 16.

14/12/08	In the final gala of the year the team placed 4th in the Notts and District Gala at Arnold. Just 1 first place ,but two more personal bests. Click here to view the results.
10/12/08	Details of Christmas closing are now available. There will be no swimming on the Wed 24th, Sat 26th, Sun 27th, Mon 29th and Wed 31st of December. Swimming resumes on Sat 3rd January.

07/12/08	Some terrific swims this morning at the Last Chance time trial. 4 county times and 15 new pb's achieved. Many thanks to all helpers this morning. Visit the timings section where the pb list and this mornings timings are available.
07/12/08	Saskia and family would like to say a huge thank for you for all the cards, gifts, messages and support given during Saskia's current illness, this is all very much appreciated. She is making good progress, so be warned, she will be back at the club to see you all asap, even if not swimming for some months.
02/12/08	The Personal Best list (see timings section) has been updated with County Qualifying times, and also re-sorted into age group order. Swimmers highlighted in yellow appear to have achieved qualifying standard, whilst those times in green are reasonably close or could probably be achieved. If you are close to a time and want to try to achieve it, then time trials are being help on the next two Sunday mornings.

03/11/08	The Presentation evening for the Club Championships will be taking place on Friday 28th November at Bishop Alexander Primary School, Wolsey Road Newark, NG24 2BQ. Evenings starts at 7pm with presentations beginning at 7.15.

28/10/08	Congratulations to Roger Luxton, our Coach, who after attending an assessment evening has been selected onto the Nottinghamshire County Council Talented Coaches Programme for 2008/09. The programme supports 9 coaches from a variety of sports and includes a series of workshops to develop coaching skills.

12/10/08	The club took part in the Notts and District gala at Hucknall on Saturday, and achieved a hard fought 4th place. A total of 7 first places were gained, as well as 12 new personal bests set. Click here to view the results.

28/09/08	Another highly competitive night of swimming at the Whiting Trophy gala at Mansfield last night. Against some strong squads we finished 4th overall. Swimmers took 1 first place, and set 5 new personal bests. Click here for the results.
27/09/08	Due to the clubs Biathlon being held on Sunday morning 28th September, there will be no training this Sunday morning.
21/09/08	Some excellent swims were recorded at last nights Minor Gala at Retford. Despite a tough draw against some of the top clubs the swimmers performed well to take 2 first places and gain 11 new personal bests. To view the results click here.

14/09/08	Well done to Jamie Scott who came 34th out of 1697 competitors at the Great North Swim held on Lake Windermere. He completed the 1 mile course in 23 mins 10 secs. Visit the photo section for a great shot of Jamie with Mark Foster.

07/09/08	Some great swimming last night at the Simeon Hansard Trophy Gala against some of the top Nottinghamshire teams. A total of 3 first places, and six new personal bests from the team saw us in 4th place. Click here for the results.

11/08/08	Congratulations from all at Newark to Rebecca Adlington. Fantastic to see that a Nottinghamshire and Nova Centurion swimmer can win Olympic Gold.
01/08/08	This Sunday morning 8am-9am is the first of four technique focused sessions. These are open to all club swimmers in the main pool. For those who usually swim on a Sunday morning this is free, those who don't we ask you to bring along a £1 for the session. This is an ideal opportunity to work on your strokes. 30/06/08	We are again holding our Skegness trip which is taking place on 19th July. The coach will leave The Grove at 10am with a free day/games on the beach. The gala starts t 6pm, will finish by 9pm, and after Fish & Chips the coach will leave at 9.30pm. Cost is only £8 per person. 23/06/08	Well done to Chris Gillard who competed at the National Masters championships in Manchester this weekend. Chris came 2nd in the 200m Butterfly, and 3rd in the 100m Butterfly.

27/05/08	Well done to Alice, James and Charlotte who competed at the Midland Youth Championships in Coventry recently. They achieved some terrific results, with highlight probably Alice obtaining 2nd place in the final of the 200m Breaststroke. Click here for more details.

12/04/08	We did a timed 200m swim during this morning session, and the times are now available on the timings section of the website. Some good improvements from many of the swimmers.
11/04/08	Unfortunately, due to injury, Simone Mathias has had to pull out of this Sundays London Marathon. However, she is going to run in the Nottingham marathon in September instead and raise money for the club. We hope that Simone is injury free soon.

04/04/08	Congratulations to Alice Thomas who has been competing in the British Championships. Alice has just achieved a brilliant 11th in the 200m Breaststroke (2.37.12) and 27th in the 100m Breaststroke (1.15.20).

01/04/08	Good luck to Alice Thomas who is competing in the British Championships at Sheffield this week. There will be quite a lot of coverage of this event as it is also the Olympic Qualifying event. 19/03/08	The Easter raffle was drawn on Monday and raised a total of £145 for the club. Many thanks to all who donated prizes, bought tickets, and to Stacy for organising. Winners were the following families - Luxton, Batterham, Betts, Lucas, Illsley, Trickett, Money, Ballard, Hendley and Smith.
16/03/08	Our swimmers performed strongly to achieve 3rd place at yesterday's Minor League Gala at Bramcote. A total of 10 1st places and 9 personal bests were achieved. Well done to all those who took part. Click here to view the results.
12/03/08	Tonight we were visited by Boundary Sound, Newark's local Radio station. Reporter Dave took part in the training and then interviewed our President and some of our swimmers. The station is back on air on 31st March, and the recording should be broadcast on the 2nd Wednesday in April. Thanks to the station for their support, and please tune into the station.

11/03/08	We hopefully will have Boundary Sound, Newarks local Radio Station, coming to our session on Wednesday. One of their reporters will be joining in the session, and looking to speak to some of the swimmers - should be good fun.
11/03/08	The last round of the spring Minor Gala league takes place this coming Saturday at Bramcote. The coach leaves The Grove at 5.15, for a 6.30 warm up and 7.00 start.
10/03/08	The last event of the County Championships took place this weekend. Some more fantastic swims including 3 podium finishes in the relays on the final weekend. The championships have been a great success for the club with 11 first places in individual events, 80 top 10 finishes, 113 personal bests, 5 top 10 bagcat finishes (and 12 top 20). 10/03/08	If swimmers who took part in the counties can be available on poolside at 7.50 with their county and T bag shirts for some photos tonight it would be appreciated.
05/03/08	Raffle tickets will be on sale from Monday 10th for our Easter raffle. Prizes include a case of wine and various chocolate goodies. Look out for Stacy from Monday onwards, and help support the clubs fundraising.

04/03/08	We will not be swimming on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (23rd/24th March). However swimming will be as normal on Saturday 22nd March. Also a reminder that with Age Group championships 1st gala being on Monday 31st there will be no swimming in the small pool, and we will be racing in the main pool.

15/02/08	The gala this weekend is the next round of the Spring Competition. Gala is at Bingham (so no coach) and warm up is 6.00 for a 6.30 start. If helpers could be at pool by 5.40 as we are hosting.
10/02/08	This years Age Group championships are being held on the 31st March and 5th April. All swimmers swimming in the main pool should look to enter these championships. Members have been sent an entry form and letter, just click the link to view them. Please remember that entries are required by the 18th February.

10/02/08	This weekend was the first weekend of the County Championships. Some terrific swims from the swimmers and fuller results will follow. We have a total of 23 swimmers competing in individual events, which is a great total, and our highest in recent years.

31/01/08	The Swimming Club are planning a trip to Sutton Ice Rink on Sunday 30th March. The bus will leave The Grove at 4.30pm and return at about 8.30pm. Tickets are only £6, and we have the ice rink to ourselves including a disco, snow and lots of fun. Make sure you book your place now.
30/01/08	The results are now available for the Spring Competition held at Hucknall on Saturday. Against some tough competition we came 5th with 3 first places, but the real result was the 16 new personal bests set - a really high number. Click here for results.
25/01/08	Just a reminder that swimmers should have paid their membership by the end of January. Details are on the membership page. This is also an ideal opportunity to sign up for extra sessions. We currently have some spaces available on a Saturday and Sunday morning.

12/01/08	The Minor gala on the 19th is at Bingham. There is no coach as this is local. The warm up is 6.00 and the start is 6.30. Please arrive promptly to be ready for the start of the warm up.
10/01/08	The date of the East Midlands Biathlon is Sunday 16th March. This is an enjoyable competition where you take part in a run and a swim. Entry form, info sheet and letter are attached. If you want to know a little bit more then please feel free to speak to Roger or Pauline Luxton.
