Last weekend 6 Newark Sc members swam at the Mansfield and Arnold Acorn Meet at Hucknall . There was some great swimming with many top 3 places pb's ,another club record and some more Midland Qualifying times . For more info click here

The Midland Open Water Championship at Bosworth is on the 8th July this year . The minimum distance is 1500m around the lake and has always been well attended by Newark Swimmers in the past . There is a camp site next to the lake if anybody wishes to go and stay over . If anybody would like some more information or advice please talk to John or Della asap

The closing date for entries to the Asa Midland Championships has now passed with 6 members of Newark achieving qualifying  times . This year these 6 swimmers have managed to qualify in 30 events with Benjamin Palmer, Olivia Mathias and Ruth Money gaining full BAGCATS and Sophie Trickett, Georgie Proctor and Millie Bowes Hall  achieving another 9 events between them .

The Midlands are swam the 1st and 2nd weekends of June in the Olympic Pool at Coventry . Good luck to you all !!!

Last Sunday 6 members of Newark SC travelled to Birmingham to compete in the British Modern Biathalon Championships .

All 6 members performed well with Ruth Money coming away with the British Biathalon Title for her age group !!

Newark Swimming Club would like to thank all the swimmers and parents who attended the Age Group Presentation last night .It was a fantastic evening with loads of prizes given out and lots of dancing , fun and games !

The presentation night for the Age Group Champs is next Friday night at Winthorpe Community Centre . ALL members are welcome even if they did not compete ! There will be drinks available and a fun disco and ALL swimmers who entered will receive a certificate . They will also receive a medal if they finished in the top 3 in a race .Please try to attend and show your appreciation for our members !

The disco starts at 7pm . Also the raffle will be drawn on the night .There is no charge for entry .

3 of our swimmers competed in the Doncaster Dartes Minster Meet last Sunday and did extremely well with Francesca Incerti finishing in 1st place overall and Amber Redmile in 2nd .

Last weekend several Newark Swimmers entered the City of Leicester level 2 Open Meet at Braunstone . This was a high standard meet and our swimmers performed well with loads of pb's , Midland Qualifying Times and a few club records .

Unfortunately we have just been informed by the Grove that the pool temperature is low again at 24 degrees so the pool will not be open on Saturday morning . Also the Grove is closed on Sunday and Monday due to the bank holiday weekend .

Newark Swimming Club is run totally by volunteers . Nobody gets paid to do any jobs so we are always on the look out for help with pretty much any aspect of running the club . If you are interested and would like to find out more please ask any of the teachers, coaches or on the desk on a Monday night and we will see if we can find you a job !!! This could be fund raising , serving drinks at galas or helping poolside .

The total pb count for the Age Groups was as follows:

Session 1 - 98  ,  Session 2 - 91 and the skins - 7 totalling 196 personnal best times achieved over the 2 galas . Well Done .

Last night saw the 1st round of the New Stage 2 Gala at Hucknall and it was a thouroughly exciting night with Newark achieving 11 Wins and 16 pb's . There were also 3 club records broken by Georgie Proctor and Ruth Money . Once again it was a close night with Newark finishing in 4th place .

The 2012 Notts ASA County Champs has finished . Newark performed well overall with 2 county champions, 21 top 3 finishes , 88 pb's , 11 Midland Qualifying times and 7 Club Records broken .

Well done to all for swimming well and continuing to give Newark a good name . Thank you to all helpers and supporters for your time and efforts over the last few weeks .

Its official ! Newark Swimming Club members were part of the successful World Record Attempt for the most amount of people swimming 100m at the same time . Well Done and thanks to the Newark Castle Rotary Club for putting the event on !!!!

Congratulations to Georgie Proctor and Ruth Money who both broke club records at the Sports Centre League Gala on Saturday night !

Georgie got the U11 100m Backstroke record and Ruth the U15 100m Im ! Club records can be found in the timings section  .

A lowly 5th place last night in the Sports Centre League at Beechdale although it was a close affair with only 19 points difference between 1st and 5th .

There were a lot of swimmers moving up ages and they did really well with 8 wins and 13 pb's  !!! Click on the results section for more information .

We are currently 3rd in the league table after 2 galas . Next round is at Mansfield on the 17th March.

A big thank you to all the swimmers who took part in the Guiness World Record attempt earlier today . A total of 46 Newark Swimming Club members and parents took part and raised money for the End Polio Campaign organised by Newark Castle Rotary Club .

The pool temperature is currentlly at 26.5 degrees which is on the cool side but should be ok for squad swimmers . The showers are also now working so the session will go ahead .

Just a reminder that this coming Saturday , club members are taking part in the Guiness World Record Attempt for the number of people swimming 100m non stop in aid of The End Polio Campaign . Please ensure you are poolside for 11.50am on the Saturday . If there are any other swimmers interested , please see Rachel on the desk on Monday . All that is asked is a small donation to the End Polio Now campaign.

Just a mention that there were problems with the heating at the Grove this morning so the pool was a little cooler than normal . The Grove are hoping to get this fixed and will be back to normal as soon as possible .Please bear this in mind for tomorrows training sessions.

More great swimming at last nights Notts County Champs at Retford .Every swimmer gained a pb , Sophie Trickett and Olivia Mathias made finals and achieved Midland qualifying times and Benjamin Palmer also achieved a Midland time and won the Gold medal !   2 new club records from Sophie and Benjamin  .Well done to all the swimmers keep it up !!!

The 1st weekend of Notts Age Group County Champs is over . We had a great couple of days with 13 top 3 places , 1 win and loads of pb's . This afternoons relay gala was fantastic with some great swimming from all the squad .
