Weekend 1

Counties 2024 got off to an excellent start. Lucia got the ball rolling with a strong 200 freestyle, an aggressive start led to a 4-second Long Course PB to place 11th. She was followed by club captain Ben in the 100 Back - Ben gave it his all to finish in 21st place gaining a Long Course lifetime best in the process. 

Junior captain Lucia rounded off the weekend in style in her favoured 50 freestyle race. She completed the 1 length splash and dash in 32.42 to qualify 4th for the final. She later managed to find another 0.3s on top of the 0.7s she took off earlier in the day. A very tight finish to the race saw Lucia finish in 5th place. Well done swimmers, roll on the next 2 weekends!

Weekend 2

Saturday saw Ben back in action on the 50m Fly, joined this time by Senior Vice Captain Isaac. Both had never competed this event long course before, but you couldn’t tell as they both powered down the pool, beating their short course times for good measure.

Lucia was next up in the 50m Back, despite not being on top form, she still managed a PB and a solid 13th place.

The weekend was rounded off by Daniel making his long course debut in his favourite race – the 50m Breaststroke. Daniel raced hard and kept his stroke rate high, resulting in a respectable 21st place finish.
