Club Vice Captain 2024 – Charlotte Gosling

Hello, my name is Charlotte.  I am a Club Vice Captain and volunteer poolside on Thursdays. I've been swimming for Newark Swimming Club for nearly 10 years and have loved every second of it. My favourite stroke is front crawl and my favourite races are the 100m Individual Medley (IM) and the 400m freestyle.  I also enjoy 50m butterfly.

My favourite aspects of the club are the coaches and taking part in open meets and galas.  All the coaches are amazing and have taught me a lot.  I also enjoy volunteering on Thursday before I swim in the County Performance squad. My best memories of my time swimming have been the Open Meets with Adam (our Head Coach), having the other Newark swimmers cheering me on at the end of the pool. Also having our award ceremonies after the Club Championships when I was younger, when we would get all of our medals and trophies presented and then have a disco - I would look forward to it every year.  I hear that there are plans to do something similar in the future.

Other than swimming, in my spare time I enjoy being a young leader at Coddington Rainbows with my mum and at also at Flintham Cubs.  I also love to bake sweet treats and go out with my friends.
