Swimming competitions can feel overwhelming at first. This guide explains the different types of meets your swimmer may attend.
Mini Meets (Ages 7–11)
Friendly, confidence-building events for younger swimmers. Mostly 25m races designed to introduce children to competitive swimming.
Club Championships
Open to all Newark SC swimmers. A supportive environment to gain official times and experience racing.
Team Galas
Selected swimmers represent Newark SC in league or friendly galas, including relays and individual races.
Open Meets
Swimmers choose their events and aim for PBs or qualifying times. Hosted by other clubs.
Championship Meets
County → Regional → National. Qualification-based competitions marking major milestones in a swimmer’s journey.
