Newark Swimming Club Events Explained:

Mini Meets: The first step into racing for Newark’s youngest swimmers aged 7-11, designed to introduce racing and boost participation in the sport. Promotes a sense of achievement. The evening consists of short, exciting races. Benefits: Medals and trophies can be won, but every swimmer gets a certificate with their times to help them track their individual progress. The club's young volunteers and Club Captains have the opportunity to get involved and develop their leadership and organisation skills.

Club Champs: An opportunity for Newark’s swimmers to compete in a variety of events from 50s all the way up to 400m. We team up with Lincoln Trident to run a 4-day event with approx. 12 hours of swimming. In 2025 over 120 swimmers competed and around 50 different volunteers helped out. Benefits: For the younger swimmers this is the perfect competition to bridge the gap between the club’s mini-meets and going further afield to higher level competitions. For the older ones it’s a great chance to try new events and collect some county qualification times.

September Sprints: Over 100 swimmers took part in 2025 - 50m heats in all strokes plus 100IM. Benefits: This is a fantastic opportunity for swimmers aged 7+ to prepare for competitions outside of Newark. For our younger members it’s a chance to see what a proper gala is like in the comfort of their own pool and for our more experienced swimmers it’s a great way to start their season in a relaxed atmosphere, whilst helping to inspire future generations within the club.

Beyond supporting specific events, we welcome one-off annual donations to help cover our core running costs - including our projected £90,000 annual pool hire.

Your donation supports:

Volunteer Annual Membership and Training: We have a fantastic growing team of volunteers helping to run the club in a variety of roles. Our volunteer Swim England fees come to around £800 a year and training for our L1/L2 coaches and officials between £100–£660 per person.
Affordability: Keeping monthly fees low so every child in Newark has the chance to swim.
Recognition: Annual supporters could appear on club kit (hats/t-shirts), social media, and our website depending on level of investment.
