New Diving Blocks

Following funding attempts for important new equipment to support progress of Newark SC, a big thanks to Newark and Sherwood District Council for funding a full set of Diving Blocks, Turn Boards and Back Stroke Ledges.

The equipment was unveiled at training last Thursday by Councillor Susan Crosby & Martin Picker from Active 4 Today.

“The diving blocks have already had such a massive impact on our swimmers, even though we’ve only had them for a couple of sessions. It allows our swimmers to train with the equipment that they’ll use in races at most other pools, giving them the best possible chance of being successful and achieving their goals. A massive thanks to everyone involved in making this happen for not just for our current swimmers, but for future Newark SC swimmers for years to come” Adam McIntyre (Head Coach)

“The calibre of the swimming club has advanced dramatically over the last two years and we were thrilled to be able to provide the equipment necessary to drive the club forward even further. All our members from primary school up to our masters swimmers have benefited from this valued resource and we are as excited as ever for the future and development of our Newark Swimming Club swimmers” Kate Fahey (Chair)
