
September Sprints – Saturday 26th September
Fast racing, club spirit and a brilliant night for swimmers and families. Open to all Newark swimmers aged 7+—from small pool to masters—this is your chance to race, chase PBs and celebrate the start of the new season.
Who can enter?
Open to all Newark swimmers aged 7+ including the Small Pool and Masters Swimmers.
Age as at 31/12/2026 Age groups: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15/16, 17/Over Level 4 licensed meet
Events & distances
- 25m: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle (8 & under)
- 50m: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle (9 & over)
- 100m IM: Individual Medley (9 & over)
Entry fees
- 25m events: £10 for all four 25m races
- 50m & 100m: £5 per event
- Sprint bundle: All five 50m/100m events for £17.50
- Spectators: £4 per person (cash on the night)
Closing date for entries: midnight Saturday 5th September (first come, first served). Late entries or amendments may be accepted until midnight Friday 25th September at double the published rate, subject to availability and at the meet promoter’s discretion.
Why race September Sprints?
- Sprint focus: Short, sharp races to test speed and skills early in the season.
- PB opportunities: Level 4 licensed meet under Swim England regulations and technical rules.
- Age group awards: Points for each placing, with top performer awards in every age group.
- Club celebration: Medals and top performer awards presented at the club presentation night on Friday 20th November at the YMCA.
Volunteer and officials – be part of the team
It takes a small army for one of these events to run efficiently and successfully. If you can spare a few hours, we’d love you on the team—on poolside, behind the scenes or front of house.
To enquire about helping please email [email protected]. We can then signpost you and support you with training if needed or add you to the list. You’ll get an excellent view of the races, no spectator fee and some free refreshments throughout the evening!

Please email any withdrawals to [email protected] before 11:00am on 26/09.
Technical notes: Over-the-top starts may be used at the referee’s discretion. Backstroke start ledges will be used for the 50m backstroke events, and 25m events will start at the deep end. There will be no swim-down facilities available on the night.
