
Nottinghamshire County Championships 2025 Report

The Long Course pool at Harvey Haddon, Nottingham saw high level competition over 3 weekends in January & February.
Newark had 13 competing swimmers that qualified via official competitions over the year prior.
Hard work & dedication forged in training led by Head Coach Adam McIntyre was on display throughout the Championships. Long Course personal bests were achieved in all 37 races qualified for.
Each qualifying team member had their own success. A few notable highlights should be mentioned.
Sasha Romanovskij (10/11yr Male) won Bronze in the 100m Freestyle and Gold in all 3 (50, 100 & 200m) Breaststroke events, placing him as top 10yr old Breaststroke swimmer in England currently.
Lucia Chivers (13yr Female) reached 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle & 50m Fly finals. Her 50m Free time ranked her in the Top 25 12yr olds in England and was quick enough to have won Silver in the age category above (14yr) and Bronze 2 years above (15yr).
Thomas Ho was the 3rd Fastest 17yr Male 50m Fly & 4th fastest 17yr Male 50m Freestyle.
Isaac Shaw was 9th fastest 18yr Male 50m Fly & 50m Back.
James Forgione (10/11yr Male) reached the 50m Freestyle final, placing 6th.
Huge personal bests across the team were also achieved by Abbey Hurst-Yates, Amelia Soar, Edith Hodson, Eliza Fahey, Isaac Fahey, James Clarke, Olivia Handley & Ruby Whitehead.
The championships culminated in a fun day of team relays with Newark reaching 2 finals in the 9/10yr Mixed Freestyle & Medley events.
Thanks to the coaching team and poolside Team Managers in particular Paul Mason & Kate Fahey assisting the Head coach throughout the Championship weekends.
