We are a friendly competitive swimming club. Fundamentally we believe it is important for all our members to enjoy their training and make new friends along the way. We aim to develop swimming skills, stamina, and speed of all our members. Our goal is for all our swimmers to achieve the best they can, and to improve on their ‘personal best’ times.
Newark Swimming Club was established in 1935.
We currently have around 200 members. Ages range from 4 years though to Masters.
Newark Swimming Club is affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). We use the ASA "Learn to swim” resources, developing water confidence and skills. Swimmers then progress to developing stroke technique for all the four competitive strokes through to competitive swimming, competing in club events, galas, open meets, county and midland competitions.
Newark Swimming Club achieved Clubmark accreditation in December 2017. Clubmark is Sport England’s national accreditation scheme for high quality community sports Clubs
Our club night for all swimmers is a Thursday. We have additional sessions on Saturdays and Sundays with Tuesday and Wednesday being reserved for our more experienced Competitive squads.
All our swimming sessions are held at the Newark Sports & Fitness Centre:
